What E oP
actually means.

Extractors fitted with a temperature sensor use it to manage heating. When the reading drops below 0°F, UniMac treats the sensor as open and disables the heater and every sensor-based step for the rest of the cycle.

What to do when E oP shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from UniMac's own guidance for E oP on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Let the cycle finish; the machine will wash without temperature control.

02

Power the machine down and back up to see whether the reading recovers.

03

Book a visit if E oP returns, so the sensor and its wiring can be tested.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E oP is the opposite of E SH, which reports a shorted sensor reading above 220°F. Neither code means the water really is that temperature.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem E oP tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. UniMac UW-series hardmount extractors of 45 to 130 lb (UWH, UWL, UWN and UWU models) with the keypad control in manual F8552201. Current UW models sold with UniLinc Touch show plain-word messages instead of these codes.

Questions
about E oP.

Can I clear E oP myself?
Let the cycle finish; the machine will wash without temperature control. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can a UniMac still wash with E oP showing?
It finishes the cycle without heating or temperature steps, so hot-wash loads will come out washed cooler.
What causes an open sensor on a UniMac extractor?
A broken wire, a loose connector or a failed sensor. Vibration over years is a common factor.
Is E oP related to cold weather on a UniMac?
No. A reading below 0°F means the circuit is open, not that the laundry room is cold.

Still showing E oP?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
