What E02
actually means.

E02 shares its first cause with E01, an unsuitable pan, but adds an overcurrent in the coil or the generator software. The unit shuts the zone down immediately and shows E02, or two short flashes after each long one.

What to do when E02 shows on the commercial appliance

Kind of codeControls and power

The controller itself is reporting trouble, or the supply behind it is: a display with dead segments, a keypad that stopped responding after steam or degreaser got behind it, relays that stick, stored recipes or cycles that vanished overnight, a blown control fuse, or one leg of a three-phase feed missing so half the heat or the pump is gone. A full power cycle at the breaker, done as the manual describes, clears a passing glitch; a code that returns, a scorched smell or any sign of moisture behind the panel means the breaker stays off, and that is a visit.

Controllers, touch panels, relays, contactors and interlocks tested, and replaced only when the evidence says so.

A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone.

Garland equipment on a cooking line is usually looked at after close, when every burner is cold and the grates can come up without rushing a cook.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Garland's own guidance for E02 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Remove the pan and let the zone rest.

02

Try a flat-bottomed induction pan that sits fully on the zone.

03

Switch the unit off and on at its power switch if E02 persists.

04

Book a visit if it returns with good cookware, since the generator needs testing.

What not to do

E02 is not an air-cooling problem; that shows as E03. It also differs from E01 in pointing at the coil current rather than the coil connection.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem E02 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E02.

Can I clear E02 myself?
Remove the pan and let the zone rest. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can a warped pan cause E02 on a Garland?
Yes. A base that rocks or does not sit flat changes how the zone couples, which the control can read as an overcurrent.
Why does E02 show only at full power?
An overcurrent is more likely when the zone is pushed hard. If E02 follows the power setting rather than the pan, book a visit.
Does E02 damage a Garland induction unit?
The unit switches off immediately to protect itself. Repeated E02s still deserve a check before the generator is stressed further.

Still showing E02?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
