What EoC
actually means.

Some True units have the display separate from the control, joined by a cable. EoC is the Danfoss ERC message for a communication error between the two. True's troubleshooting chart has technicians check the display cable connections before anything else.

What to do when EoC shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from True Residential's own guidance for EoC on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the food temperature with a separate thermometer, since the display cannot be trusted.

02

Note whether the unit is still running; you can often hear the compressor and fans.

03

Book a visit and mention EoC so the cable and connectors are checked first.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

EoC is not a temperature alarm, and the cabinet may be holding fine. On a Danfoss ETC control the communication error reads E13 instead.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem EoC tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about EoC.

Can I clear EoC myself?
Check the food temperature with a separate thermometer, since the display cannot be trusted. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Does EoC mean my True has stopped cooling?
Not necessarily. The control may still be running the unit; it just cannot report to the display.
Can a cleaning crew cause EoC on a True?
Water in a connector or a cable tugged during cleaning can do it. Mention recent cleaning when you book.
What are SYn and non on a True display?
True lists them as setup messages on the same Danfoss control: a display that is not compatible, or a display sensor that is not set up correctly. Both need a technician.

Still showing EoC?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
