What E44
actually means.

The FQ4000 times how long the oil takes to rise through a set band after a load goes in. If that time runs past the limit, it logs E44 and sounds the alarm; on the gas FilterQuick the limit in the manual is 3:15. When the same thing happens on two or more cycles, the controller moves up to E45 and asks for service.

What to do when E44 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Frymaster's own guidance for E44 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Press the check button to silence the alarm and clear the message.

02

Check the oil level against the fill lines and avoid loading more frozen product than the recipe calls for.

03

If E44 keeps coming back or E45 appears, book a visit; slow recovery often traces back to a dirty blower, a weak burner or a failing element.

It usually turns into reach-in and prep table repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E44 is a slow heat-up, not a refusal to heat: when the burner will not light at all, the controller logs E28. A single E44 after an unusually large load is less telling than E45, which is the repeat.

Questions
about E44.

Can I clear E44 myself?
Press the check button to silence the alarm and clear the message. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
How do I silence the slow recovery alarm on a Frymaster?
Press the check button on the FQ4000 (the YES or numbered button on older controllers). That clears the message but not whatever slowed the heat-up.
What is a normal recovery time on a Frymaster?
The FQ4000 gas manual gives 3:15 as the maximum, and the M3000 manual gives 1:40 for electric and 2:25 for gas. The INFO button shows each vat's last recovery time.
Why is my Frymaster slow to recover only at lunch?
Big frozen loads pull the oil down further than the control can recover inside the limit. If it happens with normal loads, the heat source needs a look.

Still showing E44?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
