What E-27
actually means.

The control compares element current with its stored nominal value. A reading too low usually means one element, a contactor or a supply leg is not carrying its share, so the fryer heats slowly or unevenly.

What to do when E-27 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Henny Penny's own guidance for E-27 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Silence the alarm and note how long the fryer has been slow to recover.

02

Check the breaker for the fryer is fully on; a half-tripped breaker can drop one leg.

03

Book a visit so the SP-12 setting, supply, contactors, wiring and elements can be checked.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E-27 is too little current, the opposite of E-25; heat stuck on is E-26. A cold vat with no current at all can also come from the high limit opening, which shows E-10.

Questions
about E-27.

Can I clear E-27 myself?
Silence the alarm and note how long the fryer has been slow to recover. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why is my Henny Penny slow to recover and showing E-27?
One of the elements or its contactor is probably not heating, so the fryer has less power than it was built for. That also stretches cook times.
Can a tripped breaker cause E-27?
A breaker or fuse on one leg of the supply can reduce element current. Check the breaker is fully on, then book a visit if the code stays.
Will changing SP-12 clear E-27 on a Henny Penny?
Only if the stored value was wrong in the first place. Changing it to hide a weak element leaves the fryer underpowered.

Back to your everyday

Still showing E-27?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
