What E62
actually means.
The FQ4000 expects oil temperature to rise once it calls for heat. If the temperature does not respond, it logs E62 with the current reading and asks for the gas or power supply to be checked. A closed gas valve, a tripped breaker or an unplugged cord are the first suspects before any part is blamed.

The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit.

On gas models, check that the fryer's gas valve and any supply shutoff are open, without loosening fittings.
On electric models, check the breaker and that the power cord is fully seated and locked in its receptacle.
If the supply is fine and E62 returns, book a visit for the heating circuit.

E62 is a general heating complaint that starts with the supply; E28 is a specific ignition lockout and E19 a latch circuit problem. A fryer that heats but slowly logs E44 instead.
